Nisan 16 – sunset Friday – sunset Saturday – the regular Sabbath Day
- The disciples remained hidden in fear, and the women rested and worshipped according to the Sabbath laws.
- But near the end of the Sabbath, at sunset, exactly three days and three nights later; 72 full hours after Jesus was put into the tomb, He arose; fulfilling the sign of Jonah and providing infallible proof that He was the Messiah sent from God as He had claimed to be.
